The meaning of "On
point" or Onpoint, as we spell it, is that the subject
under consideration is relevant and precisely addressed. That’s
how we think of our bookkeeping service: we strive to be precise
and make every effort that the data we report is relevant.
The most likely origin
for "on point" is probably the standard English idiom
"to the point" or "on the point," meaning
that the speaker's comment is relevant and that it precisely
addresses the question.
There are also other
meanings. Ballet dancers, for example, twirling gracefully on
the tips of their toes are said to be "on point."
Another usage for "on point" is military jargon. To
walk at the front of a platoon on patrol is called "walking
the point." It is considered important duty. The soldier
"on point" is out front, acting as a scout and guide.
That’s exactly how we see ourselves to our valued clients —
as a guide and trusted advisor.
